PUBLIC LECTURE AND INTER-DEPARTMENTAL DEBATE

The public lecture of the Faculty of Arts Students' Association held 26th, March 2014 at the Arts Lecture Theatre was an academic session graced by the Dean, Faculty of Arts; Prof. Ayo Akinwale. it was also attended by the guest lecturer, Kwara State University(KWASU) Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdulrasheed Na'allah ably represented by Prof. Gambari who delivered a lecture on "Education in the 21st Century-the pains and gains". Also present is Dr. Aliyu-Ibrahim from the English Department, the H.O.D,Performing Arts; Dr. Ikibe, the H.O.D, History and International Studies, Dr. P.F Adebayo.  The program entertained lots of academic recommendations to serve as means of solutions  to the pains facing education in the 21st century.

The inter-departmental debate followed immediately after the public lecture and representatives from each department spoke about the relevance of their disciplines to the contemporary society.  At the end of the program the department of religions emerged winner with the total point of 8.5, followed by the department of French with 6.83, while the department of Performing Arts came third with 6.5.
